My Story



I know a lot of times when it comes to bettering ourselves or our lives we think we are alone. One thing you need to know is that you, my friend are not. I have struggled with my health and weight my entire life until a couple years ago. Today I am a better person because of everything that I went through and the most exciting part is that I now get to help you on your journey.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I found the secret to easy weight loss or that you can lose 30 pounds in 30 days. That might be great for sales but it’s not realistic (or even slightly true). The truth is there is no secret. It takes a lot of dedication, and a true desire to change your lifestyle for the better to become the person that you want to be. But how do we do that?

We reach our goals through a consistent effort, day in and day out but we also need support, guidance and a plan that we know we can sustain to help us achieve our goals. I've found over the years of coaching people the biggest struggle is figuring out what to eat. This is the reason that I have created Plant. I wanted to give you an easy, customizable meal plan full of foods that you get to choose and know you will love.

I have been overweight my whole entire life and have tried to lose weight countless times before and always failed.

In January of 2016, I found the Forks Over Knives documentary and started to switch to a vegetarian diet. However, I never thought I would be able to give up dairy and make the full switch to a vegan diet. 

In April 2016, I started experiencing debilitating headaches from what turned out to be chronic migraines. I was in tremendous pain, suffering, and miserable every day. When I first became vegan I started using calorie trackers to make sure I was getting “enough protein”. It soon turned into an obsession with calorie counting and turned into an eating disorder. I was eating between 500 and 800 calories a day. I was losing weight but often felt tired and lightheaded because I was starving myself.

After watching your videos I learned that what I was eating mattered so much more than how much I was eating. I changed the foods I ate and now eat a healthy amount of food. My family and friends are often shocked by the amount of food that I eat while being able to lose weight. Now almost a year later I have reached my weight loss goals and am building back up the muscle that I lost when I was under eating.

Weight and self esteem have always been a big issue for me… ever since I was 12. I struggled with eating disorders and poor self image issues. It was when I was 12 that I first tried to be vegetarian as I loved animals so much, it didn’t make sense that I ate them…
